Football: Olympiakos offers 2 million euros to recruit Algerian striker Djebbour
The first-league Greek club of Olympiakos has offered 2 million Euros to enroll Algeria international Rafik Djebbour whose contract is about to be terminated with his former outfit of AEK Athens.
- Djebbour joined Olympiakos during the last Mercato for a 6 month-period on a loan basis.
- He quit unwittingly his former club after purchasing his liberation letter for 300.000 dollars in order to be able to join the Olympiakos squad.
- A Greek sports newspaper “Gazetta” revealed that the managing body of Olympiakos had offered the Algerian striker an annual salary of 1 million Euros in exchange for a contract with their club lasting until June 2013.
- Sources close to Rafik Djebbour suggest that the Olympiakos offer is so enticing that the seasoned Algerian forward could not brush it aside off-handedly.
- Rafik Djebbour is now listed among the top scorers of the Greek first-division championship competition.
