Louisa Hanoune criticises RCD deputy
Leader of Workers’ Party Louisa Hanoune

Leader of Workers’ Party Louisa Hanoune said Thursday member of the Rally for Democracy and Culture (RCD) Nourredine Ait Hamouda threatened her for criticising the positions of his party.

  • “My position stands by Algeria’s side. This man is untrustworthy because he did not hesitate to go to Brussels to ask for help from the NATO against the regime in Algeria,” Hanoune said in a conference in the province of Medea.
  •
  • “I can not trust a man who was in Brussels, a few days ago, to ask for help from the NATO which hates Algeria for rejecting normalisation with Israel,” she added.
  •
  • Earlier, Nourredine Ait Hamouda accused her of stealing the money of her deputies and working for security services in Algeria.
  •
  • She described his statement as baseless and advised him to make a difference between serious opposition and opportunist one.
  •
  • Speaking about recent revolutions in a number of Arab countries, she said those revolutions were supposed to happen in a number of European countries as they implemented austerity policies following the financial crisis. “Yet, those governments exported the revolutions to the Arab countries exploiting some errors and wrongdoings.”
  •
  • “Algeria is far from such situations thanks to the political commandment reforms launched in 2009.”
