A call for Algerian Workers Union leader to resign

Opponents of the Secretary-General of the General Union of Algerian Workers called upon theNational Secretariat and the Executive Committee of the Central Trade Union to immediate resignation, to save the union from the crisis that it is experiencing, and take a temporary command that oversees the Tenth Congress of the Union, and return it to its natural position that is the opposition to the government.
Well-known officials of syndicates, including Ammar Mahdi, Aissa Nouasri, Mohamed Lakhdar Lakhdari, and Ahmad Badaoui, exposed the “road map” to bring back the International Organization to its silence, starting with “immediate resignation of the current General Secretary, and members of the Secretariat and the Executive Committee, according to them, since three and a half years, that ends with a democratic conference from which new structures will emerge.
Owners of the statement renewed their refusal to go to the extraordinary conference with the composition of the existing structures, because its consequences would be unrepresentative and lacking in legitimacy and credibility because it is fabricated, and this will accelerate the implementation of the scheme of destroying the organization.
“Central Syndicate is in front of two choices only, either to save it from destruction or be convinced that it performed its historic role, thus it will leave the way for unions to do their work in the field of workers’ representation and defend their rights through legal means.”
