Abdelhafid Tasfaout named as Algeria team’s general manager

President of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) Mohamed Raouraoua Thursday appointed former international player Abdelhafid Tasfaout as the national team’s general manager succeeding Oualid Sadi.

  • Tasfaout who palyed for Algeria’s national team in 88 matches scored 35 goals. He was a professional player in France’s Auxerre and he has been a member in the FAF’s federal bureau since Raouraoua was appointed as its president in February 2009.

  • Tasfaout has a university degree in engineering and he was one of the few international players known for their good cultural level and good discipline.

  • The national team’s new general manager has a good reputation among local players and those who live abroad as he had been an eminent element in the Algerian team. He was a professional player in well-known French clubs. Because of that, he knows well football and professionalism more than other players.

  • Many football figures were candidates to hold this position. Of them, the president of a local team Kamel Oughlis and the FAF’s Secretary General Abdelkader Berdja.
