Tourism and Traditional Industries Minister, Abdelouaahab Nouri, inaugurated, on Thursday, the tourism activity in Annaba Sheraton Hotel (eastern Algeria), where the works ended after nearly nine years, in the context of the large tourism projects that aimed at expanding the national number of international.

Sheraton Hotel opened its doors to the minister, who was also accompanied by the Minister of Public Works and Transport, Boudjemaa Talai and Annaba Province governor, Youcef Chorfa, and some foreign guests like the Ambassador of China and Consul of Tunisia, and a number of businessmen and MPs.

During the visit, the Minister of Tourism listened to a detailed presentation on creating and renovation and modernization of five hotels which belonging to the institution of tourism management, including Seybouse International Hotel, in the center of Annaba and “El Mountazah Hotel”, which is located on the high Seraïdi municipality, in the middle of a spectacular natural place that combines the blue sea and the sprawling green forests.

In the same context, the minister praised rehabilitation of a project of 70 hotels across the country, and said that the President pledged to support it with a budget of 70 billion DZD. 

He also laid the foundation stone for the completion of a new “Eden” Hotel in Sidi Achour municipality in Annaba.

During the opening sidelines, the minister asserted the importance of showing more efforts to attract three million and a half million Algerian tourists annually, who choose other destinations outside the country, and the need to develop competitive prices and services, to bring the Algerian tourists and revive domestic tourism, which contributes to the recovery of the national economy and supports other sectors of the economy away from hydrocarbons.
