Abderrahman Raouia: “Taxes Can Be Paid Online By End Of 2016”

Government provides a possibility of paying taxes online by the end of the year, so as to enable the institutions and even individuals to benefit from the new facilities, and to gain time as well, through avoiding the daily long queues in the tax cervices, General Manager of Taxation, Abderrahman Raouia, told Echorouk, on the sidelines of a session to discuss the Financial Law for the year 2017, on Tuesday, at the National People’s Council.

“Our services began in the process of preparing for the modernization of information systems, updating the numbers, the modernization of the tax census and information system that is used in the budget, both for resources or expenses. It is one of the priorities of the General Directorate of Taxation, especially since a large number of citizens do not pay the taxation, due to the absence of digitization system”.

“We encourage agents of taxes in order to recover the value of the money that is not collected and which reached two billion dollars, that is put on the responsibility of citizens. In this regard, the General Directorate of Taxation expected the increase of collection rate in 2017, to more than 11%”.

Previously, the directorate has put, in front of economic operators, the access to obtain the identification number online starting from last May 8, in order to simplify the procedures for fiscal registration.
