“Algerian community in Egypt is ok,†says ambassador
Algeria’s ambassador to Cairo Abdelkader Hadjar Saturday Algerian community in Egypt was not harmed by protests and they do not have any intention to leave the country.

“The community in Egypt is ok and things are normal for Algerians,” Hadjar told Echorouk on the phone.
Touristy operators denied that Algerians living in Egypt wanted to come back to Algeria through air trips. “The number of Algerians living in Egypt is so small that it is impossible to conduct evacuation.
According to a touristy agency owner, round trips from Algiers to Cairo are estimated at six of Egypt Air and three of Air Algerie per week.
He also said travellers from Algeria to Egypt and vice versa are residents or workers. The number of Algerians living in Egypt is small and they are married to Egyptians and they have dual-citizenship. Because of that, they do not leave Egypt easily.
Other people who use air trips to reach Egypt are Algerians going to Saudi Arabia to perform Omra through a third airport. They are not concerned by the trips at present because the Omra season has not started yet.
If the situation in Egypt continues until the Omra season starts on February 15th, touristy agencies will not rely on Algeria-Egypt line to change aircraft to go to Jedda and Medina. It will be replaced by Algeria-Istanbul line. That would create big pressure on it as there is a shortage in direct lines ensured by Air Algerie and Saudi airliners.
