“We will do our best to beat US,†says Algeria’s Boudebouz
Algeria’s striker Ryad Boudebouz promised to win Wednesday’s match against the US and resolve the team’s scoring problem.
-
What can you say about the match Algeria vs England?
-
-
We played a good match and we gained confidence which will help us a lot in the next match against the US. Because of that, we will not hesitate to show a strong performance in the last match and play our chances to the last minute.
-
-
-
How have you found England’s team?
-
-
Actually, it is a strong team. We showed that we can take up the challenge and play against any team without any complex. We studied England’s weak and strong points and we exploited that. Unfortunately, we did not score.
-
-
-
A point may not be sufficient to qualify. What can you say about that?
-
-
-
We were able to beat back England. That is good for us. It was a response to all those who criticised us. I believe that a point against England will have an important effect especially if we win the US.
-
-
So, you are satisfied about the result?
-
-
Of course. England is a candidate to win the World Cup.
-
-
Algeria did not score once again. Does it mean that there is a problem in the attacking line?
-
-
-
I don’t think so. The first match against Slovenia may have had a big effect on our performance. We did not have many opportunities. Because of that, we will try to treat that in the next match.
-
-
You seemed tired in the second half-time. Did you feel the difference in the physical level?
-
-
There was not a big difference between us and England. Personally, I felt tired but it is normal. I have been continuously working for a month after a difficult season with my club.
-
-
-
What are Algeria’s chances now?
-
-
-
I think everything will be clear against the US. We have no other choice. Yesterday, we were about to be out of the competition but the draw is a victory for us. We will do our best against the US to qualify to the second round.
-
-
How did you see the presence of your parents to support you in the stadium?
-
-
My mother is the source of my confidence. I think her presence motivates me more and I hope it will be the same against the US in the last match.
