“We’ve got to win against Madagascar” says Algeria's U23 Olympic coach

Algeria's U23 Olympic team plays tomorrow Madagascar in the second leg’s second round qualifiers to 2012 London Olympics.

  • The Greens have won the first leg in Algiers 3-0 last March 26. They left the country last Tuesday to Antananarivo via Paris, after concluding a training camp in Algiers.

The squad’s coach Azzedine Ait Djoudi said: “the training camp was devoted to fix the squad before Sunday clash in Antananarivo,” adding “I have called up the same players who took part in the first leg win, except Paninios’ striker Mohamed Chalali, who was left under the service of his Greek club.”

He further stressed that “We’ll do our best to win in order to confirm the first leg 3-0.”

In case the Fennecs win the game against Madagascar, they would play a team which is to be determined by the African Football Confederation (CAF). The first leg of the next round is fixed for June 3rd, 4th or 5th, while the second legs are fixed for 17th, 18th or 19th of the same month.

The 8 qualified teams will play a playoff tournament from 2 to 18 December 2011, in an African country which is yet to be chosen.
