African gang swindles Algerians through internet

African gang swindles Algerians through internet

Both the brothers Y. Lyes and Y. Ramdhane appeared yesterday before the criminal court of Tizi Ouzou, 100 KMS east of Algiers, on charges of illegal detention of a Malian national called Gabriel.

  • Y. Ramdhane has revealed to the judge that he was victimized by an international gang led by  a woman based in London who claims to be the widow of a Malian diplomat killed in an air blast in 2005.
  • The defendant went on saying that was trapped by the lady after carrying out thorough investigations over the Malian diplomat’s case on the internet. He added that he asked his brother to inform the local detective division about the presence of an African national in their home at the tiny village of Ighil Mimoun, Beni Douala since three days.
  • The widow had sent two African nationals pretending to be their children and met with the defendant at Algiers international airport in addition to another individual that she pretended to be her lawyer in order to start a business with him.
  • She asked him to finance the business on account that money transfers to Algeria requires a lot of time and bureaucracy. The man had to finance the project at the level of 30 thousand Euros but will receive 500 thousand Euros in return.
  • The Malian national was expatriated to his home country after entering illegally the Algerian territories, while the Algerian victim was cleared from all charges.
