Air Algerie opens investigation as Algerian scientist is humiliated

Air Algerie Sunday opened an investigation into the humiliation of an Algerian scientist by the airliner crew, press attaché told Echorouk.

“The company’s officials ordered to open an investigation after they had learned that Professor Djamel Daou was kicked out from the airplane by an air hostess and a pilot,” Karima Menaouer said.

“The hostess and the pilot will be called in along with witnesses who were in the airplane. If an error is proved, they will be punished in accordance to the law,” she added.

Professor Daou is a physics scientist. He studied in many universities in the word. He teaches in the province of El Oued.

This comes as the air hostess asked him to change his place and he accepted. He noticed that she was speaking French with all the passengers. So, he wrote in a sheet of paper, asking her to speak in Arabic or in English. The hostess took the sheet of paper to the pilot who called the police. The Professor was chased from the airplane.
