Houari Boumediene International Airport noticed, on Wednesday, a strike that was launched by the technical services staff of Air Algérie company, since 10:00 am, at the time flights continued and planes’ guidance to abroad continued as well.

Air Algérie Technical Directorate signed, in a matter of two hours, five decisions to send flights abroad, including the flights to Frankfurt, Germany, and other flights towards France, which were verified by the engineers at night, but then it decided to cancel all the remaining flights.
According to sources from the company’s syndicate, Algiers International Airport, on Wednesday, a strike that was launched by Air Algérie technicians who belong to the syndicate, under the banner of the Independent Syndicate “SNTMA”, due to what they described as discrimination between them and Air Algerie workers syndicate, which belongs to the General Union of Algerian Workers, which is led by Said Taouinine, and it comes primarily to recruitment and promotion.
During the strike period, Air Algerie flights were sent outward without mechanicians’ signatures, and only Hamzaoui, a deputy director of the technical directorate, signed the decision to send the planes from Houari Boumediene Airport, which raised condemnation of the striking technicians, who wondered about how to allow the exit of planes without the mechanicians’ signatures, which may pose a threat to the lives of passengers, at a time all flights were cancelled, until the end of the strike.
Head of the syndicate, Rezaaz, launched negotiations with representatives of the General Directorate at 12:00 am, to stop the strike and called for equality among all employees in various sectors without discrimination.
