Algeria coach Lucas Alcaraz Thursday said he is the master of his decisions and the president of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) Khireddine Zatchi neither his vice-president Rabah Haddad dictates on him the name of players to be called in.

“I started coaching profession, 20 years ago. I have never let any official or any person out of the technical staff to get involved in my work,” Alcaraz told a news conference in Algiers.

This comes as the 51-year-old coach called in 6 players from Paradou club and 6 others from USMA d’Alger. Some said Zatchi and Haddad put pressure on him to choose those players.

Alcaraz said he talked to Paradou’s coach to give enough information about the concerned players.

“I was based on tow criteria in relation with experience: participating in Rio’s Olympic Games 2016 and the Islamic Solidarity Games in Azerbaijan in May,” he added.

The Spanish coach prepares the national local team to play against Libya in Constantine on August 12th. Six days later, another match will be played in Tunisia as part of Africa’s Championship 2018 qualifiers for local palyers.
