Algérie Poste set to launch money transfer system by telephone next July
Algérie Poste is slated to launch as from next July a new system for the transfer of money by citizens via their telephones in conjunction of the mobile telephone operator “Mobilis”.
- This was announced Sunday in Algiers by the General Manager of Algérie Poste, Mr Omar Zerarga, to “Echorouk” stressing that this brand-new system would allow up to 13 million customers to check their financial assets or to transfer money directly through their mobile phones.
- He added that this endeavour was aimed at guaranteeing the quality and the swiftness of this new modern service for the benefit of all the customers of Algérie Poste.
- Mr. Omar Zerarga further indicated that once Algerie Poste had bought a substantial amount of telephone communications from “Mobilis”, the National Postal Company would extend its money transfer service by acquiring those of the two other mobile phone operators namely “Djezzy” and “Nedjma”.
- According to our interlocutor, this option is designed to ease the current “tension” now gripping the country’s postal offices and to contribute to settling the lingering liquid assets problem.
