Algeria: 11 detained terrorists including El Para to face trial shortly
Well- informed sources told “Echorouk” that 11 terrorists, now in detention including former GSPC Chieftain Abderrazak El Para, will face trial shortly before the criminal court of Sidi M'hamed in central Algiers.
-
El Para who was a terrorist ringleader in southern regions of the country was arrested during a raid on his hide-out in 2003 by the Chadian Army before being handed over to Libya which later turned him over to the Algerian security services.
-
- He was a close henchman of current southern terrorist chieftain alias Abou Zeid whose terror group is held responsible for numerous murders, racketeering, cross-border contraband including arms’ smuggling and money laundering in addition to abduction of foreign nationals along the Malian-Niger border with Algeria.
- This came to light after a thorough and in-depth investigation carried out by the security services which have now transferred the relevant file of the arrested terrorists to the relevant tribunal in expectation of their upcoming trial.
