Algerian authorities, led by the Customs Department is responsible for importing the Chinese products that are classified in 3rd,4th and 5th options, or what is known as bad Chinese products, Chinese ambassador to Algeria, Yang Guangyu, said at the embassy’s headquarters in Algiers.

“Customs’ services should stop allowing the import of bad goods, in accordance with law. Networks of businessmen from Algeria and other nationalities, deliberately travel to less developed regions in China, in order to buy low-priced items and market them in the local markets of different countries, despite the presence of better goods of first choices, and the goal is to gain a lot of money and get the products in a short time and at the lowest prices.”
“Acquisition of poor Chinese products and introducing them to the market, required the issuance of orders by both the Algerian and Chinese authorities to stop importing bad goods. There are different types of products in different regions of the country and with different options, and if authorities wanted better products, there are companies that can guarantee their demand.”
“Chinese companies may participate in the completion of various projects that are related to 2015 – 2019 program. I met with Minister of Industry and Mines, Abdessalam Bouchouareb, on Sunday, in the context of a courtesy visit. Chinese companies wish to participate in the completion of the quintet projects. Bilateral relationships with Algeria are very important for China, as the latter seeks to be strengthened and developed at various levels, with the expansion of the fields of partnership to other sectors such as education, health, and water. Professors of teaching the Chinese language are supported in higher education in Constantine, Annaba, Oran and Algiers.”
“Level of cooperation could be better. Doors of China are open for the transfer of technology and expertise to Algeria without any reservations. Jobs that were created by Chinese companies, are ranging between 40 to 50.000 direct positions offices, and 100.000 indirect positions, with an estimated number of Chinese workers in workshops that reached 35.000 workers. There is the possibility of the use of other nationalities to accomplish the projects, as investment value reached $ 1.5 billion, a figure that was considered by the Ambassador as low compared to the potentials of Algeria”.
“I discovered this during the last two months after appointing me as China ambassador to Algiers. A meeting was held recently with officials of the Chinese companies to urge them to continue investment. I also encourage Chinese companies to come to Algeria and reduce the import bill through the creation of joint companies with Algerians that produces materials that are imported. Algeria’s imports from China reached $ 8 billion, while Algeria exports to China reached $ 2 billion.”
“China agrees with Algeria in its fight against terrorism in the region, and seeks to ensure the stability of neighboring countries, such as Libya, Mali, and also supports its positions to find solutions to existing problems in a number of countries in a peaceful manner like the Syrian crisis. China and Algeria share common views on various international issues. Foreign Minister presented proposals to the Egyptian side of cease-fire, but for the Western Sahara, China supports the decisions of the United Nations.”
