Algeria: Campaign underway to convince 2,000 business leaders to donate a portion of their wealth to the State
The Chairwoman of the General Employers’ Confederation, Ms Saida Neghza, has announced the launching of an awareness-raising campaign among business leaders and business managers across Algeria, whereby the latter would be requested to donate a financial package to replenish the coffers of the Public Treasury in order to make it cope with the current financial downturn brought about by the dwindling oil prices.
Ms Neghza said in a statement to “Echorouk” that the targeted business leaders, numbering around two thousand, were called upon to help the state in this woeful financial juncture now gripping the country as a goodwill gesture and on a voluntary basis.
She pointed out that the latter must show gratitude towards the Algerian state institutions which had allowed them to foster profit-yielding projects over many years in numerous sectors of activity.
Ms Saida Neghza added that via their much-needed financial donations, the latter would expect from the higher authorities the granting of facilities in the smooth implementation of structural projects in various fields of endeavor, notably through the easing of allotment of bank credits and the scrapping of the bureaucratic red tape.
