Algeria classified first in Africa and fourth worldwide in terms of taxation!

According to a report issued by the World Economic Forum “Davos”, Algeria ranks first in Africa and the fourth worldwide, in terms of taxation, at a rate of 72.7 percent, at a time when the public authorities are intent on further hiking fees, taxes and prices early next year as an alternative to cope with the scathing financial crisis spawned by dwindling oil prices.

According to the “Davos” Forum, Argentina remains in first place in the list of taxation rate by more than 137 percent. With regard to the issues of corruption, the forum classified Algeria in the 105th slot among 138 countries.

Concerning innovation, Algeria holds the 119th spot worldwide.

In the field of economic competitiveness, Algeria was ranked 87th, ahead of Tunisia, which came in the 95th position, while remaining far from Morocco, which ranked 70th.

 

It is noteworthy that the World Economic Forum’s report is based on a number of indicators in the preparation of the international classifications, both economically and financially, with notably on focus the transparency of the enterprises, their innovation and research capacity and the extent of cooperation between the public and private sectors.
