Algeria confirms new swine case among pilgrims
Algeria reported new H1N1case raising fears among pilgrims as the confirmed case is 63-year-old pilgrim woman, Echorouk learnt.

The case was discovered when the aircraft carrying the pilgrims landed off in Saudi Arabia coming from the airport of Oran (west of Algiers).

The woman was transferred to a specialised hospital in Jeddah in charge of treating pilgrims hit by the virus.

The Algerian medical delegation in Jeddah is following her health state. Algerian doctors visit her and provide her with psychological care in collaboration with Saudi experts.

A preliminary medical report shows that her health state is stable and doctors say she may not leave hospital soon to complete the pilgrimage rites.

“The woman’s psychological state is the most difficult due to the big shock which was about to become a mental depression,” said the report.
