Traders and Craftsmen’s Union expects that the process of providing market with consumption products including milk and bread as trade departments are late in preparing duty shopkeepers.

Representative of Traders’ Union Hadj Taher Boulenouar said trade departments have not given instructions to traders’ representatives to prepare duty sellers.

“Last year, this operation was done in mid-Ramadan. Bread and milk may not be available during Eid days. Distribution network will be perturbed. Bakers are afraid that their workers would go to their native towns in the Eid before the list is done,” he told Echorouk.

The Traders’ Union holds trade departments responsible for any possible consumption products shortage including milk and bread.

Wholesale markets are expected to stop working two days before the Eid while its vacation would last for two days. Farmers would also be on holidays until the end of the week following the Eid.

Food prices are also expected to go up due to large demand. Yet, Belounar said the price of some agricultural products such as potato and tomato will be stable.

The Traders’ Union washes hands of commercial activity disruption in Ramadan, saying it only receives instructions from trade departments.
