Algerian vocational training and education minister Tuesday said loans granting policy failed and the ANSEJ youth employment agency must review its work.

The minister called for encouraging young graduates to start micro-business and giving them priority in loans and employment.

Earlier, Algerian youth minister Abdelkader Khemri said the government must review starting business mechanisms including ANSEJ agency. He criticized it for granting loans without taking into consideration applicants’ education level.

“Training and professional integration systems will be useless if the economic sector does not play an effective role,” the vocational training and education minister said in a conference in Algiers.

“A new endeavor has been adopted for partnership since September 15th. An agreement was signed with 14 ministries, 7 employer organizations and the General Union of Algerian Workers to raise awareness among all the players,” he added.
