Algeria-EU: energy minister raises Association Agreement repercussions on national economy

Industry minister Youcef Yousfi received the European Union’s envoy to Algeria. They talked about the Association Agreement and its repercussions on national economy.

The ministry said in a release that the two officials evoked the “situation of economic cooperation between Algeria and the European Union as well as their expectations and vision to reinforce collaboration.”

“They talked about the Association Agreement between Algeria and the European Union and its repercussions on national economy. They also dealt with the ongoing financial and technical cooperation program,” it added.

Yousfi stressed the importance of the European Union’s company to Algeria in training industry executives and updating enterprises. This aims at rebalancing partnership relations between the two countries. 

Algeria adhered to the Association Agreement with the European Union in September 2015.

The minister called for a “diversified approach to the relation between Algeria and the European Union which takes into consideration the national policy in ensuring energy funding safety.”
