Algeria-Germany to finalize partnership for the manufacture of tractors

A Germany-Algeria partnership project for the manufacture of tractors in Algeria is being finalized, Minister of Industry, SMEs, and Investment Promotion, Mohamed Benmeradi said Thursday in Algiers. “We have already concluded partnership contracts with Germans for the manufacture of engines and trucks in Algeria,” the minister told APS on the sidelines of the 19th Conference of African Ministers of Industry. The state owned industrial vehicles company has already struck a partnership project with the German Daimler for the manufacture of vehicles designed for the National Army. Th first engines are due to be produced as by 2013. About 7500 vehicles will be produced in the first year, and then bringing the production up, gradually, to 15 000 within the next four years.
