Algeria land transport: “New stringent regulations”
The Council of Ministers is slated to meet next Sunday in Algiers with the aim of tackling a number of outstanding issues including the revamping of the conditions governing the granting of the proper authorizations and permits for exercise in the transport of goods and passengers across the national territory.
- As part of the new regulations, the old vehicles exceeding 10 years used for the transport of passengers will be banned to traffic. Moreover, the grip will be further tightened on those reckless drivers having a bad record in terms of road accidents.
- The legal age for driving a vehicle in the transport of goods and passengers including bus, lorries etc… will be clearly defined by the upcoming cabinet meeting through the promulgation of a new executive decree altering and completing decree n° 415. 04 dealing with national land transport.
