Algeria: More than 3000 students protest at President’s Office
More than 3000 students took to the street in Algiers on Tuesday and arrived at the President’s Office shouting anti-power and pro-democracy slogans.
- At least four students were wounded after they had been beaten by policemen next to the University of Algiers. The protesters started their march from La Grande Poste. A large number of policemen were mobilised to stop them but the students continued their march.
- At least five policemen were wounded in clashes with the protesters. They used truncheons to disperse them.
