LISBON (Portugal)- The third Algeria-Portugal high-level meeting will be held Tuesday in Lisbon under the co-chairmanship of Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia and his Portuguese counterpart, Jose Socrates, with bilateral cooperation high on the agenda.

The meeting, to be held within the framework of the Treaty of Friendship and Good-Neighbourly signed by the two countries in 2005, will consider bilateral cooperation and examine ways and methods to strengthen it.

“Algeria wishes to see Portuguese companies seizing investment opportunities and the potential offered by our country to get involved, more concretely and efficiently, in a lasting partnership,” a diplomatic source told APS. “In this third high-level meeting, the two sides will exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest.”

The agenda includes peace and security in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
