Algeria ready to satisfy Egypt’s gas needs, says Sellal
Algeria said it is ready to satisfy Egypt’s gas needs and raise visa duration for its businesmen to a year or two. It also opened the door to Egyptian operartors to achieve housing programs and create an Algerian-Egyptian Business Council, according to Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal.
« Algeria has a sincere wish to cooperate with Egypt and it is ready to satisfy a part of its gas needs. Visa duration will be raised for Egyptian businessmen to a year or two, » said Sellal on a visit to Washignton on Wednesday.
« An Algerian-Egyptian Business Council has a big importance in finding quick solutions for all the hidnrances which may come around. This is meant to raise common investments volume in the two countries, » he added.
This comes as Sellal met with his Egyptian counterpart Ibrahim Mahlab as part of the US-Africa Summit held in Washington. They highlighted strong and historic friendship relations between the two countries.
Mahlab stressed the necessity of holding the Egyptian-Algerian Higher Joint Committee meetings as soon as possible in view of their importance.
The two parts examined the possibility of the Egyptian contribution in developing infrastsructures in Algeria including housing projects.
Mahlab said Egyptian companies are ready to invest in Algeria in housing sector.
