Algeria’s National Police Department Sunday announced that legal age required for police agents recruitment may be reduced in limited cases.

National Police Chief Abdelghani Hamel gave an instruction to allow candidates less than 19 to apply for the competition exams if other candidates are more than 23.

Adopted minor candidates can apply provided that they present documents to prove their situation. Legal age can not be reduced to more than 5 years.

Earlier this month, the National Police Human Resources Department announced a competition exam to recruit male and female police agents.

According to the National Police Department, applications should be submitted at training offices in different provinces in Algeria.

Candidates should be between 19 and 23. They should have Algerian nationality and have legal situation in terms of national service.
