Algeria squad find difficulties in Banguela

The Algerian delegation accompanying the national football squad has found difficulties in Banguela since it arrived to the airport for semi-final match against Egypt, Echorouk has learnt.

• Authorities changed the Algerian players’ residence and put them in another hotel 30 km from the town. The delegation arrived at around 11 am to prepare for Thursday match.

• The decision to change the hotel was taken in the last minute under the pretext that the match is sensitive. Angolan authorities believe that it is better to put the Algerian delegation and fans away from their Egyptian counterparts.

• Egyptian Football Federation’s officials told authorities Egypt has the intention to make Thursday’s match an occasion for reconciliation between the two people. Yet, sources say Egyptian ambassador to Angola held a meeting with the Federation’s head Samir Zaher and Banguela’s governor to talk about the match.

• The decision to change the hotel came after the meeting. It is believed that the Egyptian officials gave a negative image about the Algerian fans to the Angolan governor.
