Algeria supports Abu Ghait to be Arab League’s Secretary General

Spokesman for the Egyptian foreign ministry Ahmed Abu Zid said minister for Maghrebin affairs, the African Union and the Arab League Abdelkader Messahel Wednesday notified foreign minister Sameh Chokri about Algeria’s official support for Ahmed Abu Ghait to be the Arab League’s Secretary General.

Media reports said Chokri thanked his counterpart Messahel for Algeria’s support to the Egyptian candidate. He hailed strong relations between the two countries and common interest to reinforce Arab solidarity.
