Algeria to develop pharmaceutical industry
A letter of intent is expected to be signed on Thursday (September 30th) between Algeria and a delegation of visiting American businessmen regarding investments in Algeria’s pharmaceutical sector, AFP reported.
Algeria is highly dependent on imports of medicines, which constitute 70% of its needs, and “wants to build a national pharmaceutical industry”, Algerian Health Minister Djamel Ould Abbes said Monday in Algiers.
US companies are reportedly interested in direct investments, technology transfer and specialised structures, such as cancer treatment centres.
