Algeria to provide oil facilities with sophisticated alarm systems

A meeting between Algeria’s energy minister, senior executives at Sonatrach and the commander of the military fourth zone in Ouargula Saturday came up with a new system to protect oil facilities, Echorouk has learnt.

The new system is based on many important axes meant to prevent terrorist groups from leaking into oil bases. National Popular Army’s command decided to increase the number of guard towers to have control on the surrounding of oil facilities. Workers will be protected and oil facilities will be provided with sophisticated alarm systems.

According to the same sources, the army’s command backed its forces in the south and stepped up surveillance measures in the surrounding of oil bases.

Many organizational and administrative instructions were given and an authorization was imposed on anyone who wants to enter oil facilities.

A security data base will be established to include the identity of workers at oil companies and visitors.
