Algeria: Trade Ministry enforces stringent measures to regulate market and stamp out speculation
The Trade Ministry has decided to take drastic measures with the aim of regulating the market and getting rid of all unlawful practices by unscrupulous and venal tradesmen during the holy month of fasting of Ramadan.
-
The Trade Ministerial department has mobilized to this effect several squads of anti-cheating monitoring agents in various provinces of the country in order to oversee trading activity including products’ quality and set prices in all markets and shopping centers throughout the month of fasting of Ramadan.
-
-
These dutiful agents will see for themselves all the products on display in the markets including meat and fruits and vegetables as well as perishable goods so as to make sure of their fresh quality and book if necessary those salesmen indulging in overpricing or speculation.
-
-
Those tradesmen who are caught red-handed contravening the laws and the regulations in force will have their goods confiscated and will face large fines.
