Algeria-Tunisia: Trade exchanges fall
TUNIS (Tunisia)- The global volume of trade exchanges between Algeria and Tunisia reached, during the eight first months of the current year $499 with a significant fall in comparison to the same period of the previous year, President of the Algeria-Tunisia joint chamber of commerce Moncif Othmani said Friday.
Speaking during a meeting on commercial partnership between the two countries, organized in Tunis, Othmani underlined the “need to engage in a new dynamic” based on boosting partnership between Algerian and Tunisian businessmen, and seizing investment opportunities offered in both countries.
The reports presented before the participants to the meeting, showed that trade exchanges between Algeria and Tunisia recorded last year a “fall” moving down from $1,200 million in 2008 to $ 806 million in 2009.
