Algeria: Wholesale and neighbourhood markets in every district and municipality
The Algerian Trade Minister, Amara Benyounès, has enjoined all trade directorates in the four corners of the country to take the necessary steps to stamp out all the informal marketplaces which are rife across all towns and cities of Algeria in a bid to “cleanse” the national trading activity sector.
Mr Benyounès underscored during a broad-based meeting held recently in Algiers bringing together the Secretary General of the trade ministerial department and the managers of the trade directorates of various provinces that a roadmap should be urgently worked out in order to achieve these salutary objectives by getting rid of the counter – productive black market across the national territory.
Mr Amara Benyounès also gave instructions to the officials concerned urging them to speed up the creation of bona-fide wholesale and neighbourhood markets in every district and municipality of all provinces of the country in a concerted effort with the local authorities with the aim of fulfilling the legitimate expectations of the Algerian consumers through reliable, controllable and legal trading activities.
