Algeria will cause a stir, says Bougherra

Algeria’s defender Madjid Bougherra told Echorouk in interview players are excited about playing the World Cup matches.

• How do you describe the atmosphere few days before the match against Slovenia?

• We can say it is wonderful. Everyone is motivated and ready to play the World Cup matches. We are staying in a comfortable and calm place. After a tiring journey, here we are in training.

• What about the training place? Is it suitable?

• The pitch is good and the place is wonderful because there is no noise. The smooth weather is helping us and makes us preparing well for the first match against Slovenia.

• Before the match against Slovenia, you played against UAE for the first time since you recovered from injury. How did you feel?

• I was very happy for coming back to competition. It was a friendly match though we committed errors. I think that I am ready to play against Slovenia or let’s say we are ready 80 percent. I hope we will be ready 100 percent in the match.

• It is believed that the match against Slovenia will be decisive for the Algerian team. What do you think about that?

• Usually, the first match is the main one without ignoring the other matches. I believe that victory over Slovenia would enhance our chances in reaching the second round. Yet, Slovenia is a respectful adversary and it will be very difficult for us to defeat them.

• You will play against strong strikers like Novakovic. How do you expect this battle?

• We always try to know about the most meticulous secrets about our adversaries. We know that Slovenia is not an easy team. I am self-confident and I trust in my team-mates.

• The Slovenian team is more competitive than the Algerian one. How do you intend to beat them?

• Our technical staff is doing its job. We focus a lot on this important match. I believe that competition will have a tactical aspect at first. Eastern Europe plays football almost like Algeria. We have surprises for the match.

• In the match played against the UAE, there was a misunderstanding between Algeria’s three defenders. Have you fixed that?

• That match was meant to check whether we are ready or not. As far as I am concerned, the most beautiful thing is that I am right back to competition. I believe that I trust in the defence line with Antar, Helliche and me.
