Algeria will stand by Tunisia’s side, says ambassador
Algiers’s ambassador to Tunis Abddelkader Hadjar said Algeria which has suffered from terrorism for a long time will stand by Tunisia’s side.
“Military and security cooperation between the two countries has reached a high level either in terms of central or local commands on borders,” said the ambassador.
“Tunisian-Algerian relations are in their highest levels in all the fields. They passed from partnership and cooperation relations to exceptional relations,” he added.
He also said Tunisian heads of government have a “good tradition” which is to choose Algeria as the first country they visit after their nomination.
“Tunisia was the Algerian Revolution’s back-base along with Morocco, Libya and Egypt,” he said.
Tunisia’s head of government Youcef Shahed praised relations with Algeria, describing them as “exceptional.”
“What the two governments do is to concretize the wish of their people to consolidate friendship relations between them,” he added.
