Algerian authorities to deny access to pornographic websites
Algeria Telecom Company’s General Manager, Ben Hammadi Moussa has indicated in a declaration to Echourok that his institution will complete a series of technical procedures to deny access to pornographic and terrorist websites within 8 months for internet users across the country.

Pending the enforcement of the procedure, Algeria Telecom has put available to parents and internet cafés owners a system for free to stop these websites.

The company’s move to bloc these sites was ordered by the highest authorities of the country following overwhelming reports issued by the security services which laid the blame on these websites for the spread of immorality among the youngsters and teenagers through the surfing on the chat webs.

In addition to the disastrous effects pornographic websites on the teenagers’ personalities, many of them have been brainwashed by other sites used by terrorist organizations for their propaganda.

Several youngsters found themselves trapped in the terrorism imbroglio while the intended to know more about their religion, but ended up addicts of terrorists’ forums and turned terrorists all of a sudden.

In the wake of appalling figures released by experts in cyber criminality alongside of several associations for the protection of children, the Algerian authorities have resorted to follow the model of several Arab and Islamic countries, which succeeded to ban these sites, and build up the best strategy to curb this phenomenon.
