Algerian cabinet to discuss press reform

On the eve of World Press Freedom Day next week, Algerian ministers will have a chance to preview the text of the proposed measure decriminalising press offenses, quoted Communications Minister Nacer Mehal said on Thursday (April 28th).

On April 15th, President Abdelaziz Bouteflika pledged Algerian press law reforms, saying in his televised address that the information bill would “introduce a code of ethics” and “decriminalize press offences.
