Algerian coach Rabah Saadane privileges stability ahead of the future competition

The Algerian head coach Rabah Saadane has decided to keep mostly the same lineu-up that took part to the last African Cup of Nations tournament in Angola, pending the friendly match versus Serbia slated for March 3, a reliable source closed to the technical staff has revealed.

• Rabah Saadane is set to make three changes at maximum in a bid to keep the balance among the Algeria squad arguing that the players made a good showing during the last competition, the same source added.

• The coach has decided to call back AEK Athens’ striker Rafik Djebbour to take part to the match after confirming the missing of Strasbourg’ Yacine Bezzaz on a count of a serious knee injury.

• Es Setif midfielder Hocine Metref is due to be take part to the next international match to replace his team mates Khaled Lemouchia after falling in disgrace with his coach during the last African competition, it said.

• The third change will probably concern the goalkeeper as the technical staff is seriously envisaging the idea to skip the name of Faouzi chaouchi from the list after his unprofessional behaviour during the African Cup of Nations. He will be most probably replaced by the seasoned goalkeeper Si- Mohammed Sedrik, though some news hint to the probability of sanctioning Faouzi Chaouchi only and count him out for the next match.

• Though the list of the players has been set up in the coach’s mind, he has assigned one of his assistants the task to supervise some players overseas who didn’t play for the Algeria squad yet.

• Saadan’s special envoy will fly to Spain and Germany in a move to supervise Berlin’s striker Benyamina and Mainz’s midfielder Chadli. For his part, the defender Walid Cherfa ,who plays for the Spanish club Taragonna, will be under scrutiny by the same supervisor.
