Algerian earthquake injures 19
Earthquake in Algeria.
Nineteen people were injured on Sunday as a result of a 5.0 magnitude earthquake near the city of Beni-Lyman in the south-east of Algeria.
- According to Algerian geophysicists, the epicenter of tremors was located ten kilometers from Beni-Lyman. On May 14th an earthquake of similar magnitude, near the city of M’Sila, which is in the same area, claimed the lives of three people, 86 people were injured.
- According to scientists, Algeria records up to 60 earthquakes ranging from four to five points on the Richter scale every month, which is considered normal for the North African country.
