Algerian Experts Ask for Blocking Jihad Websites

Law experts and specialists asked for the need to take field decisions to confront the phenomenon of terrorism, which has become transcontinental, through blocking the “Jihad” websites, that invaded the Internet and became an arena ground for incitement and encouraging terrorist groups, insisting not other measures but the legal legislation, especially that the threats which are surrounding Algiers are realistic, which are concreted by security services figures, which monitor daily attempts to breach the border and dump Algeria with weapons.

Legal Committee of the National People’s Council, started, on Monday, to listen to specialists and experts to enrich the bill of counter terrorism and prosecuting Algerians or foreigners who are residing on the Algerian territory who join terrorist groups abroad, as most of the interventions focused on the need to continue to limit these “shameful” acts with the laws and stop tolerance on the phenomenon, which is threatening the countries.

Security situation of the borders, particularly in the South, was under discussion as well, as the speakers, according to a source who attended the meeting, focused on the large and essential role that the National People’s Army and various security services do in securing the Algerians’ life, and repelling the daily attempts to penetrate the borders, calling for accompanying these efforts with field and preventive measures, like blocking “Jihad” websites, in addition to criminalize the acts of financing and organizing that travel operations to another state, to commit terrorist acts, or instigation of or training for the use of information and communication, or any other means, and they made suggestions to put legal articles that stipulate the way to deal with terrorists, who return from other countries, along the lines with Syria, Iraq and Libya, with ensuring the right to move to abroad, which is guaranteed by the Algerian Constitution, and which should be clarified in the law.
