Algerian fans celebrate the Greens in Crans- Montana

In an unprecedented move, the quite Swiss city Crans- Montana was “invaded” by scores of Algerian fans came to approach the Algerian players at their training camp.

• The city of the rich, as some Swiss bill it, Crans- Montana’s legendary quietness was spoiled in the break of the day by hundreds of Algerian fans that took advantage from the week end to fill the streets with their cars raising slogans and chanting glorifying songs.

• Similarly to their fellow citizens in the other Swiss towns, the inhabitants of Crans- Montana are not used to such celebrations, but yesterday’s date will be remembered for a long time as hundreds of fans rocked the city with their songs, pushing some daring Swiss to melt in the crowd and join the procession while others stood in awe on the sidewalks.

• Fans flocked from various parts of Switzerland especially those who live on the Swiss- French borders that formed a long caravan to move from Crans- Montana to Sion along 40KM.

• Many others are due to join the first wave of fans knowing that this Monday is dedicated for climbing where families organize excursions on top of the mountains especially that weather conditions have improved since the last cold wave that hit the region last week.
