“Algerian fans extol the Greens despite undeserved defeat vs Egypt”

Thousands of Algerian fans took to the streets of Algiers and other cities last night at the end of the semi-final match between Algeria and Egypt (0-4) to voice their total support for the Greens' commendable performance in the 27th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament now hosted by Angola. 

• All the Algerian supporters sang the Fennecs’ praises asserting in unison that they had made a very good showing by reaching brilliantly the semi-final of this African competition before being “victimized” outrageously by the Benin referee Koffi Kodjia who did everything to make the Algerian squad lose this crucial semi-final match versus the Egyptians.

• Hundreds of Algerian fans also got into contact with the newspaper “Echorouk” to firmly denounce the scandalous refereeing stressing that the valiant Algeria line-up had in fact been beaten not by Egypt itself but the unfair Benin referee Koffi Kodjia by 4 goals to nil if we take into account all the ins and outs of the Benguela match including the reported Egyptian “mish-mash” behind the scenes.

• The “Greens of Algeria” will surely be extended a heroes’ welcome upon their return from Angola for having heartily defended the Algerian colours during this African football contest.
