Algerian Flight Company’s General Manager accuse some parties of plotting against him
Wahid Bou Abdellah

The General Manager of the Algerian flight company “Air Algérie “, Wahid Bouaabdellah has revealed that his company has yesterday cancelled 6 flights towards the French capital Paris out of 11 scheduled, while all the flights towards the other French city Lyon were cancelled on account of the of the movement of strike conducted by the air traffic controllers since yesterday Tuesday until Thursday.

  •
  • M Bouaabdelah has apologized for the inconvenience caused to hundreds of passengers who were forced to wait long hours at Houari Boumedieene International Airport without any further details about the situation.
  •
  • However, he has indicated that the company’s services will take charge of the passengers in those situations, hinting to the possibility of transferring some 2000 passengers towards other airports through different destinations.
  •
  • Talking yesterday at a French radio program he has declared “ It’s not an easy task to lead a public company for the time being… I unfortunately admit it because of those who send unknown messages with the aim to harm the company… I inform them that we are quite confident and we’ll get over this phase”, accusing some parties to plot against him by sending messages to the authorities.
  •
  • Wahid Bouaabdelah has indicated that the operation of hiring planes is quite complicated and requires a prior permission from the civil aviation department. This situation has caused some delays in acquiring additional planes to face up to the growing demand during the summer season
  •
  • “ The demand on Air Algérie is not high all along the year but only in summer, this is why we cannot buy new planes then leave them on the tarmac, thus the choice to hire planes instead of buying them” , he said.
