Algerian Football team to play the Emirates side in Nuremberg

The Algerian national squad will play a friendly match today against the Emirates’ side in the German city of Nuremberg as part of their preparations to the World cup tournament due to take place in South Africa.

• The Greens were defeated last Saturday in Dublin against the Irish squad 3 to nil sparking controversy among the Algerian fans. Today’s match, according to many, is important in the sense that the “Greens” have to win in order to boost their moral and start this competition with a high spirits pending the first test versus Slovenia.

• The head coach Rabah Saadane will seize this opportunity to test most all the players especially those who missed the last friendly against Ireland on account of injuries like Matmou, Antar Yahia, Yebda and Bouguerra .
• But some sources have revealed that the participation of Matmour is not confirmed because he didn’t fully recovered from his injury and has may be to wait until the first match of the world cup. The coach would be compelled to put him on the bench if he considers that Matmour is not for 100% to start the competition.

• Pending the first match in the World cup versus Slovenia, the head coach Rabah Saadane will most probably select the starting players during the friendly versus the Emirates, in a move to prepare them for the real test.
