Algerian forces besiege 500 terrorists including leaders of AQIM
Algerian forces and anti-terrorism services led by Generals of the First, Second and Fifth regions tightened the siege on all ports, corridors and forests considered essential hubs for the movement of terrorists.
Security services believe that 500 terrorists, including senior leaders of the GSPC terrorist group, also called AQIM, under the leadership of Abdelmalek Droukdel, also nicknamed “Abu Mosaab Abdelouadoud”, hide in the triangle of death which extends from Delis mountains, South-east of Boumerdes, to the borders of Tizi-Ouzou, east of Algiers, and from Sidi Bounab and Mizrana forests to Bejaia.
Well-informed sources said that the security siege came after positioning the strategic map that terrorists use in their moves. The combing operations are led by Generals of Algeria military regions including Abdelkader Ben Zekhroufa, Chief of Staff (1st military region), who led the combing operation in Zekri forest, located in Ikourane (Tizi Ouzou), east of Algiers, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists after clashes for more than six hours.
Armed forces tried to arrest those terrorists alive, after tightening the siege on them and cutting off communications and routes used in supplying terrorists with ammunition, after dismantling dozens of back up cells which provide information for the terrorist groups.
Our sources said that a high state of alert is announced in these regions in anticipation to any state of emergency or other terrorist operations, where terrorists seek to lift the siege on their fellows and search for an opportunity to carry out their criminal acts.
Same sources add that the commanders of the operational military sectors seek through these joint operations to eliminate leaders of GSPC or AQIM after they tried to escape and hide in caches to avoid clashes with the armed troops through besieging these terrorist.
