The Algerian delegation has made the final touches in order to reach Gaza through Rafah crossing pending the go ahead from the Egyptian authorities who didn’t allow the entry of 100 tons of foodstuffs on account that only people and pharmaceutical products are granted permit to get through.

The foodstuffs aids are currently stored at the Egyptian doctors’ union storehouses in addition to four trucks loaded with pharmaceutical products and medical equipment needed in Gaza.

Despite the firm Egyptian denial to transfer foodstuff to the occupied territories, negotiations are still underway between them and the organizers of the caravan to funnel these products, arguing that they have received an accord of principle from the Egyptian embassy to Algiers that allowed them to funnel pharmaceutical products and foodstuffs through Rafh crossing.

The caravan was supposed to leave yesterday Cairo heading for Al Aarich, in keeping with the accord agreed upon between the Algerian delegation and the Egyptian authorities at the Egyptian pharmaceutical company’s premises, then carry on thorough Rafah crossing over 30 Km.
