Interior Ministry and local groups in coordination with the Foreign Ministry decided to grant the biometric passports for Algerian illegal immigrants who have no residence documents abroad, as they will be valid for one year, with the possibility of granting the biometric passports for immigrants who have the urgency cases on homeland, as well as the final cancellation of the certificate of proficiency for driving licenses of migrants.

In this context, deputy of the Algerian community in parliament revealed on the fourth European region except France and the Americas, Noureddine Belmeddah, told Echorouk that he met with the Interior and Local Communities Minister, Noureddine Badaoui, last Thursday, adding that the Minister received a presentation on the situation, especially the problem of Algerians who do not have documents of residing abroad.

According to Belmeddah, the minister received explanations on their situation, especially in Spain, for example, as the person who stayed on the Spanish soil for 3 years without documents, can settle the documents of residence, provided of obtaining the passport of his/her country.

“Hundreds of Algerians in this state have these conditions, but they do not have passports, but outside Spain the cases are especially concerning the dates of marriage, in addition to the presence of entire families who do not have the documents and found themselves in front of the mandatory of teaching their kids.”

“Such passport will be handed over in a real time at the level of the consulates, and it will not be extracted in Algeria, and Algerians who are residing legally in the host country and who have urgent situations at home and do not have a passport yet, in addition to Algerians who do not have residency documents.”
