Algerian interior minister to Echourok: Algeria stands by the Libyan people

The Algerian interior minister Dahou Ould Kablia has vehemently denied the allegations that Algerian air forces have transported mercenaries to Libya, adding that this baseless news were a smear campaign against Algeria launched by parties known to the Algerian authorities.

  The minister has demanded those behind this campaign to forward evidence if they were right noting that the Algerian authorities stand by the Libyan people call for change.

  • Reacting to the allegations that Algeria was transporting mercenaries to Libya, the interior minister has yesterday decaled to Echourok”  I can tell you that you since the beginning of events in Libya not a single Algerian plane landed on the Libyan airports except those dispatched by the Algerian authorities to repatriate the Algerian nationals from Benghazi”.

  • The minister has further indicated” The Algerian foreign ministry has swiftly reacted to the allegations relayed by some satellite channels and posted on some websites denying them forcefully”.

  • Although declining to identify the parties responsible for this smear campaign against Algeria, the minister has revealed that the Algerian authorities know them well since this is not the first time that they try to involve in Algeria either openly or secretly.

  • M Dahou Ould Kblia went on saying that the Algerian authorities have opened the borders for the Libyan refugees and some 3600 foreign nationalities from various nationalities crossed the Algerian soil so far.

  • However, Echourok sources in France have indicated that the attempts to involve Algeria were orchestrated by a nighboring country known for its unfriendly stand towards Algeria.

  • The minister’s denial came in the wake of accusations launched by Libyan opponent leaving abroad who cited Libyan officers and witnesses saying that Algerian planes transported mercenaries to Libya, asserting that video records were available.
